Characteristics of the MOOC 1.1 Aim of study: the aim of studying this course is to form a comprehensive understanding of cultural tourism as a complex socio-cultural and economic phenomenon by developing students’ knowledge of its theoretical foundations, cultural expressions, heritage resources, community interactions, creative industries, and sustainable management practices. The course seeks to equip learners with the ability to analyze cultural tourism processes at global, national, and regional levels, design culturally responsible tourism products, evaluate the role of heritage, identity, and innovation in tourism development, and apply professional competencies to the assessment and promotion of cultural tourism potential, with particular attention to contemporary international trends and the cultural tourism context of Kazakhstan. 1.2 Objectives of study:  to provide theoretical knowledge of concepts, forms, and evolution of cultural tourism.  to develop analytical skills for studying cultural heritage, communities, and creative industries.  to build practical competencies in designing, managing, and promoting cultural tourism, with focus on Kazakhstan and global practices. 2. Learning Outcomes: upon successful completion of the course “Cultural Tourism”, students acquire comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical foundations, forms, and resources of cultural tourism, including heritage sites, cultural practices, events, creative industries, and community-based initiatives. Students develop the ability to analyze cultural tourism processes, assess the cultural and tourism potential of destinations, design culturally responsible tourism products, and apply principles of sustainability, heritage management, and innovation in professional tourism practice at local, national, and international levels. 3. Prerequisites. To successfully complete this MOOC, learners must possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through the study of the following courses: Animation activities in tourism 4. Postrequisites. The knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through the study of this MOOC are required for the successful completion of the following courses: Food culture in restaurants 5.
