1. МООC Description
The purpose of the discipline is to familiarize students with the modern
development of the global tourism industry and prepare them for professional tour
operator and travel agency activities, management of the international tourism industry
and organization of international tourism, the peculiarities of the development of
tourism in the world, the classification of the global tourism market. As a result of
mastering the discipline, the student has the skills to compare different regional
markets, applies international experience in the domestic tourism industry.
1.3 Course Objectives
- To familiarize learners with the theoretical foundations, structure, and key
components of the world tourism industry, as well as its economic, social, and cultural
significance at global, regional, and national levels;
To develop understanding of current trends, challenges, and transformations
in the global tourism sector, including digitalization, sustainability, crisis management,
and the impact of geopolitical, environmental, and health-related factors;
- To equip students with analytical skills to evaluate tourism markets,
destinations, and industry performance, and to apply tourism management concepts and
strategic approaches for planning, development, and sustainable growth of tourism
destinations and enterprises.
