1. Characteristics of the MOOC
1.1 The aim of studying this course is to develop a comprehensive and systematic understanding of event tourism as an important segment of the modern tourism industry and a strategic tool for destination development. The course is designed to introduce students to the theoretical foundations, organizational principles, and practical mechanisms of event tourism, including the planning, management, promotion, and evaluation of events as tourism products.
1.2 Objectives of study:
to become familiar with the theoretical foundations of event tourism;
to learn the methodology of planning and implementing event tourism;
to develop skills in organizing events and event-based tours.
2. Learning Outcomes: upon successful completion of the course, students acquire comprehensive knowledge of event tourism, including theoretical foundations and historical development of event tourism, typology and classification of events, stakeholder roles and partnership networks in event management, and the strategic importance of events for destination branding and tourism development. Students also gain an understanding of event concept creation, stages of event preparation, marketing and advertising strategies, visitor management and audience engagement, venue organization and technical support, budgeting and financial planning of events, as well as methods of evaluating event effectiveness and visitor experience.
3. Prerequisites. To successfully complete this MOOC, learners must possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through the study of the courses: Mice-tourism.
4. Postrequisites. The knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through the study of this MOOC are required for the successful completion of the following courses: International regulation of the tourism business.
