Characteristics of the MOOC 1.1 The aim of studying this course is to develop a comprehensive and systematic understanding of excursion services as a significant component of the tourism industry and as a professional activity combining educational, communicative, and managerial functions. The course is designed to introduce students to the theoretical foundations, historical development, classification, and methodological principles of excursions, as well as to provide practical knowledge of designing, organizing, and conducting excursions in various contexts, including cultural, urban, museum, ecological, and international environments. 1.2 Objectives of study:  to understand the theoretical foundations and development of excursion services.  to develop practical skills in designing and conducting excursions.  to form professional competencies in excursion management and guiding. 2. Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of the course, students acquire comprehensive knowledge of excursion services, including their historical development, theoretical foundations, and role within the tourism system. Students gain understanding of the classification and main types of excursions, their educational, communicative, and experiential functions, as well as the principles of interpretation and visitor engagement. 3. Prerequisites. To successfully complete this MOOC, learners must possess the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through the study of the courses: Fundamentals of tourism marketing. 4. Postrequisites. The knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired through the study of this MOOC are required for the successful completion of the following courses: Organization of international tourism. 5.
