Characteristics of the MOOC
1. MOOC Description. The purpose of the program is to develop students’ social and personal competencies and their ability to purposefully use physical education tools and methods to preserve and strengthen health and to develop resilience to physical loads, neuropsychological stress, and adverse factors in future professional activities. Upon completion of the course, the learner uses various forms and types of physical education activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle and organize active recreation and leisure time.
1.3 Objectives of studying the discipline:
To achieve this goal, the following educational, health-improvement, and developmental objectives must be addressed:
1) provide basic scientifically grounded knowledge about using physical education and sports to develop vital physical qualities for maintaining health and optimal professional performance;
2) form a motivational and value-based attitude toward physical education and the need for regular physical education and sports activities;
3) strengthen health and develop the body’s resistance to adverse factors associated with work activity;
4) foster discipline, teamwork, and mutual assistance among peers;
5) develop mental stability, self-confidence, decisiveness, courage, determination, initiative, persistence, endurance, and self-control;
6) develop and improve basic motor abilities — endurance, strength, speed, agility, and flexibility;
7) ensure the acquisition of various skills and abilities for developing physical capabilities, social and cultural experience, and socio-cultural values through physical education and sports;
8) develop communication skills, including the ability to use information from various sources and present it clearly in an appropriate form;
9) develop thinking skills, self-development abilities, and research skills.
1.4 Learning outcomes of the discipline:
Upon completion of the program, the student will have the following competencies:
1) personal: readiness and ability for self-development and personal self-determination; readiness to independently use professionally adapted physical education skills in work and life situations;
2) meta-subject: ability to use interdisciplinary concepts and universal learning activities (regulatory, cognitive, and communicative) in cognitive, sports, physical education, health-improvement, and social practice; readiness and ability for independent information and cognitive activity. Development of skills for participating in various competitions.
3) subject-specific: ability to use various forms and types of physical education activities to maintain a healthy lifestyle and organize active recreation and leisure time.
1.5 Prerequisites: Basic concepts of motor activity (speed, endurance, coordination, strength, flexibility, etc.), and knowledge in the fields of valeology and anatomy.
1.6 Postrequisites:
Mastery of physical qualities that are especially important for professional activity; development of applied auxiliary motor skills and abilities, specific volitional and other mental qualities, and the body’s resistance to adverse effects of professional conditions.
